What We Publish
Three Sections, One Standard
Every piece we publish asks the same question from a different angle: what does it actually mean to be male? We accept work in three formats:
Deep Dives
Long-form, research-backed explorations. These are pieces that go beneath the surface -- combining personal narrative with data, history, psychology, or cultural analysis. Bring receipts.
Editorials
Opinion and analysis. A clear argument grounded in observation. We want sharp thinking, not hot takes. Convince us you have wrestled with the other side before choosing yours.
The Raw
Poetry. Letters never sent. Diary entries. Transcripts of conversations that changed something. Confessions. The only requirement is that it be real. These are the pieces that stay with readers longest -- the ones that feel like overhearing something you were not supposed to hear.
Who Can Submit
Anyone
Any age. Any gender. Any background. You do not need to be a writer. You do not need to have been published before. You do not need credentials or a platform. You need something true to say.
We publish under first name, last initial, and age. You may use a pen name -- we will never reveal your identity without your explicit consent. Our youngest contributor is 12. Our oldest is 65. The range is the point.
What We Look For
Honesty Over Polish
We are not looking for perfect prose. We are looking for the thing you actually think -- the thing you might hesitate to say at a dinner party. Specificity over generality. Personal experience over abstract argument. The detail that makes it real.
- // Write from what you have lived, not what you have been told to believe.
- // Be specific. The best pieces are built on one moment, one conversation, one realization.
- // Surprise us. If your conclusion was obvious before you started writing, dig deeper.
- // We do not publish rants, manifestos, or anything that reduces the other gender to a caricature. You can be angry. You can be unflinching. But you must treat the people you write about as real human beings.
Point / Counterpoint
Two Sides, Published Together
Some of our most powerful publications are paired pieces -- two writers exploring the same topic from different vantage points. A father and a daughter on the same argument. A man and a woman on the same workplace dynamic. A teenager and a retiree on the same fear.
If your piece responds to something we have already published, tell us. If you want to write one half of a pairing and need us to find the other, tell us that too. We will do the matchmaking.
The Process
From Submission to Publication
Submit. Use the form on our homepage. Paste your piece or describe your idea. No need for a formal pitch -- just tell us what you want to write and why.
We review. Every submission is read by at least two editors. We respond within 5 business days. If we are interested, we will tell you. If we pass, we will tell you why.
We edit together. If your piece is selected, we work with you on light edits -- for clarity, for flow, never for agenda. We will never change your voice. You approve every edit before publication.
We publish. Your piece goes live on the site and is featured in our newsletter. We handle the design, the layout, and the promotion. You just have to write the truth.
Rights
Your Words Stay Yours
You retain full rights to your work. We ask for first publication rights and the right to keep the piece on our site indefinitely. You are free to republish your piece anywhere else after it appears with us. If you ever want your piece removed, we will remove it -- no questions, no friction.
We believe the people who share their stories with us are doing something brave. We will never exploit that trust. Your work is yours. We are just the platform.
